At the Baguio Country Club, we counted our blessing during the sober moments following the quack: NOT ONE PERSON A CASUALTY. There were some injuries and countless shaken nerves but everyone was duly accounted for and alive. The Apollo Rice wing sank by one floor, the New Dining Room and the Main Kitchen completely smashed, the fire escape broken and twisted, and the 2-year-old Swiss Chalet ruined.
5 months after the earthquake the remaining west wing, which was built with pine logs, was quackly swallowed by fire. Employees saved vital equipment and document. After the fire was settled, they found out that the fireplace and chimney is where the fire started
A two-story Clubhouse built with coco lumber at the skating rink temporarily housed a dining outlet, bakeshop, and offices while waiting for the completion of the New ClubHouse. A small stockroom was built for the temporary Clubhouse. Room Accommodation started again, in the five old cottages, golfing, indoor and outdoor dining, and celebration of traditional events were the focus of operations at the temporary Clubhouse for almost three years since the fire. A simple groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 25, 1992 for for the construction of New Clubhouse

In 2009, during the centennial year of Baguio, the local government awarded the Baguio Country Club as one of the builders of Baguio. Its founding father, William Cameron Forbes, its President Chairman Emeritus and President for Life, Atty. Potentiano Ilusorio, for of its forefathers namely William Howard Taft, Leonard Wood, Luke Wright, and William Pack, and the Clubs General Manager Mr. Anthony De Leon, were likewise awarded as 'Builders of Baguio'
The Baguio Country Club is accredited and star rated by the Department of Tourism as a Five-Star Mountain resort from 2012 up to 2021. Renewal of its five-star status from 2022 is being processed by the Department of Tourism
The Baguio Country Club is recognized as the forerunner in the hospitality and tourism industry in the City of Baguio and the entire Northern Luzon. In its pursuit of maintaining and improving its facilities and services to be at par with world-class hotel and membership club facilities, the Club is rated as a 'Five-Star Resort', the highest rating given to hotels and resorts by the Department of Tourism
